Marvel Studios is all about Black Panther these days, as that highly-anticipated release is just days away from wreaking havoc at the box office. I can’t wait. However, just a few months on the horizon is Ant-Man and the Wasp. The studio just released a brand new trailer for the sequel.
Returning for another round are Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly who play the titular characters respectively. Also coming back are Michael Douglash, Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Hannah John Kamen, Abby Ryder-Fortson and Randall Park.
Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang (Rudd) tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, when Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Hank Pym (Douglas) present him with a new mission to bring to light secrets from their past, requiring him to team up with van Dyne as the new Wasp.
Joining the franchise are Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne. The former steps in to play Janet Van Dyne, the wife of Hank Pym and mother of Hope Van Dyne, while the latter takes on the role of Dr. Bill Foster. In the comic books, Foster is also known as Black Goliath and possesses the same growing powers as the Ant-Man.
Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives July 6. Check out the trailer below which finds Rudd and Lilly on the run from the authorities. The part where Rudd comes face to face with a giant Pez dispenser made me chuckle.
