Bienvenido a Miami, Annie Ilonzeh. The 27-year-old Texas native has been cast in ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels” reboot. Ilonzeh is the first of the three angels cast in the remake headed up by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar which is being put together by Sony Pictures TV and Drew Barrymore’s Flower Films. The new version will swap out Los Angeles for Miami as the backdrop of sexy crime fighting.

Up until this point, Annie’s biggest role was on daytime soap, “General Hospital” as Maya Ward. She’s also filmed bit parts on numerous primetime shows including “Entourage“, “Melrose Place” and “How I Met Your Mother“.

Ilonzeh will Kate Prince, an incredible athlete who possesses a razor-sharp intellect. Out of the three angels, she’s the most serious but also knows how to let her hair down and have a great time. Kate is an ex-cop, a master of martial arts and a strict vegetarian.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Robert Wagner will play the voice of Charlie. In the original that ran on ABC in the 70s and in the two movie adaptations starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Lui, John Forsythe was the man behind the voice. Forsythe passed away on April 1, 2010.

Now that one angel has her wings, there are still two main leads to cast along with Bosley. I really hope they think out of the box when casting Bosley and sign Heather Locklear. She was always an Aaron Spelling favorite and it would be a great way to pay homage to the legendary TV producer.

Here are descriptions of the other two angels the producers still need to cast. Got any suggestions?

ABBY SAMPSON aka The Blonde Angel

“Her beauty has always turned heads, but it’s her quick wit and quirky sense of humor that makes her stand out. She grew up on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and is the daughter of a notorious Wall Street crook a la Bernie Madoff. She is an expert thief, con artist and is trained in the deadly art of Krav Maga.”

MARISA VALDEZ aka The Hispanic Angel

“She’s an orphan, an immigrant and a former U.S. Marine. She is a weapons expert and is trained in all forms of hand-to-hand combat. Marisa has a no-nonsense attitude, is a Play Station addict and self-confessed neat freak.”
