FOX’s ‘Love Connection’ Reboot Hosted By Andy Cohen To Include Same-Sex Couples

ABC isn’t the only network rebooting classic game shows. FOX gets in the nostalgia game by announcing it’s reviving the 1980s classic game show Love Connection originally hosted by Chuck Woolery. Watch What Happens Live host, Andy Cohen, has been tapped to host the reboot.

“I was a huge fan of the original Love Connection, and hosting the new version allows me to do one of the things I love most: meddling in people’s personal lives,” Cohen said.

The revival will be produced by Bachelor franchise maestro Mike Fleiss. Unlike the original series, the new reincarnation will include same-sex couples.

“The combination of the insanely talented Andy Cohen and the undisputed king of relationship shows Mike Fleiss is absolute magic .. add in the perfect home of Fox … and I think we have a match made in heaven,” said Mike Darnell, president, Warner Bros. Unscripted and Alternative Television.

Each episode will feature a single man/woman looking for romance. After they are sent on three separate blind dates, all will dish the dirt on what transpired in front of a live audience. With all those Real Housewives reunions under his belt, Andy is certainly in his comfort zone in this arena.

FOX also revealed another upcoming game show coming to the network. Unlike Love Connection, Beat Shazam is a brand new show. Hosted by Jamie Foxx, the project is based on the popular song-identification app. Two teams will race against the clock to identify hit songs. The winner will go up against the app Shazam.

“Jamie is a quadruple-threat and creative genius,” producer Mark Burnett said. “He is an incredible actor, comedian, singer, and dancer. Also, his musical knowledge is so great that he could probably… BEAT SHAZAM.”

Both series are scheduled to premiere this summer on FOX. Which of the two games shows pique your interest more? Sound off below.
