When America’s Got Talent returns this summer, the judging panel will look a bit different. In a major shakeup, Heidi Klum and Mel B. are exiting stage left. Judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel, however, are expected to return. Coming in to occupy the vacant spots are Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough.
“One of the many secrets to the success and longevity of America’s Got Talent is its fearless drive to reinvent itself,” says Meredith Ahr, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “The next evolution of the format brings in fresh expert eyes to join Simon and Howie on the panel. Gabrielle and Julianne are two of the most aspirational women in the business, on top of being electric entertainers with talent across disciplines. I am excited to see how their knowledge, compassion and sheer joy enhance the experience for acts and viewers alike.”
There’s also a change with the host as well. It was previously reported that Tyra Banks was leaving to pursue other projects. Taking over will be Terry Crews, who’s currently hosting the Champions edition of AGT.
Banks has been with AGT since Season 12, while Klum and Brown both joined in Season 8. Will you miss any of the ladies? Excited to see what Union and Hough will bring? Sound off below.
