I’m probably going to eat my words come May, but I REALLY BELIEVE that it’s a girl’s season to lose. Every year, Randy Jackson and whoever is on the panel claim the ladies are stronger than the boys. Based on this episode, I agree with this year’s statement. That said, it all depends which girls make the final. There’s so much talent, I hate the fact only five girls will be making it to the live rounds. Fingers crossed that another cute WGWG doesn’t win American Idol Season 12.

Currently, I’m rooting for at least nine of them. A few of my early frontrunners include Candice Glover, Rachel Hale, Tenna Torres, Melinda Ademi, Janelle Arthur, Angela Miller, Breanna Steer, Cristabel Clack and Shuba Vedula. And that’s just the girls that have been pimped thus far. There could be a Kelly Clarkson or Jessica Sanchez in the bunch whom the producers are hiding until the next round. Check out the group performances below and be sure to let me know which ones are your favorites and the contestants you’re rooting for.

American Idol 12: Girl Group Performances

The Dramatics

Members: Cristabel Clack, Kriss Mincey, Janel Stinney and Aunyai Hedrick

That Janel Stinney is one unstable emotional hot mess. How she got through based on humming and not uttering a single word is beyond me. The confessionals in this clip are hilarious. Cristabel is definitely my favorite of this foursome.

Urban Hue

Members: Kiara Lanier, Jett Hermano, Tenna Torres, and Seretha Guinn

Sad to see Seretha Guinn go, especially her totes adorable daughter. The more I see Tenna, the more I like her. She looked sensational here. Much better than her Daisy Dukes ensemble during her audition.

The Dolly Chicks

Members: Britnee Kellogg, Kree Harrison, Brandy Neelly and Haley Davis

This verdict definitely shocked me. The one girl I thought was a goner, stayed. Even Haley seemed shocked with the decision. And the one I liked the most, got booted. Sayonara Brandy. PS: There’s something about Britnee I just don’t like and it’s not because her name ends with two ‘e’s instead of a ‘y’ or ‘i’ either. I hate know-it-alls that complain they’re doing all the work. Don’t you agree?

The Two Snaps

Members: Erin Christine, Lauren Bettes, Isabelle, and Zoanette Johnson

How amazing is Zoanette? The way she was able to perk herself up despite a rocky start should be a guide to all Pouty Pattys during future group rounds.

The Swagettes

Members: Melinda Ademi, Kamaria Ousley, Denise Jackson, and Candice Glover

Melinda proved she can hang with the best soulful singers in the competition. Love this girl. So glad she came back this year. Hopefully, Candice doesn’t get Jennifer Hudson-d this year. Another one I’m rooting for. Side note: Weight Watchers say hello to your future spokesperson 😉

Raisin’ Kane

Members: Morgan Boberg, Lauren Mink, Brandy Hotard, and Jenny Beth Willis

Props for bringing the tightest choreography of the day. “Sin Wagon” was a popular choice among the ladies, but this quartet was the cream of the crop.

The Misfits

Members: Kez Ban, Angela Miller, Janelle Arthur and Breanna Steer

Given all the editing, I was expecting a trainwreck. Instead, they pulled one of the best performances of the day. Great way to end the group round. Love everyone in this group, even that crazy ass bitch Kez Ban. That woman is reality television gold.
