Halloween may be over, but FX doesn’t plan on stopping the scares anytime soon! It was announced yesterday that the surprising hit of the season, “American Horror Story“, has been picked up for a 13-episode second season. The show, which was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, has been scaring audiences with it’s unique story line and fantastic cast. Oh, and the occasional glimpse of Dylan McDermott’s booty doesn’t hurt either!
“It’s one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience — it’s something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up,” said the president of FX, John Landgraf.
Landgraf went on further saying that, “Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck, Glee and now American Horror Story, which will be scaring FX’s viewers to death for many years to come.”
After getting around 3.2 million viewers during it’s season premiere and garnering around 2.5 million viewers each week, “American Horror Story” is on the fast-track to becoming FX’s highest-rated show ever.
I’ve recently seen so many tweets and Facebook posts about just how much people are loving this spooky show. At first I was a little iffy about whether or not I liked it because of it’s strange, and sometimes confusing, premise. I can honestly say that I’m now officially obsessed. I’ve never been one to hide my love for weird things and this show is definitely weird.
Season one of “American Horror Story” wraps up on Dec. 21. – start watching NOW so that you’re not too far behind when season two rolls around!
