Right before Freak Show premiered, Ryan Murphy dropped a bombshell. He revealed all American Horror Story seasons are somehow connected. Since then, he’s dropped clues every season on how all the different worlds are intertwined. During Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest this weekend, the 50-year-old director shared another major development with the FX anthology. Murphy announced he’s working on a crossover season involving Murder House (S1) and Coven (S3).
“We do know what we’re going to do,” Murphy shared. “It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre.” He added, “There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together.”
Due to the logistics of scheduling all the actors involved from both seasons, Murphy confirmed the crossover season won’t be the show’s next. It’ll take place after Season 7.
“I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in,’” said Murphy. “So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird.”
Excited for the crossover season? I am, but mostly so I can see Connie Britton return to the franchise. She hasn’t appeared in any of the other iterations since the first one. Do you think she’ll return? How do you think the crossover season will work? Share your thoughts below.
