It’s All About The Voices In First American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson Teaser

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson doesn’t debut until February 2016, but FX has already released the first teaser for the 10-episode event series. Though the new Ryan Murphy anthology boasts a star-studded cast, only Cuba Gooding Jr, Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance and John Travolta are featured. Correction. Their voices are.

Dialogue from each actor is heard while black-and-white typeface appear on the screen. “I like to win. This case is a loser,” declares Vance as defense attorney Johnny Cochran in the clip. Paulson plays prosecutor Marcia Clark while Travolta and Gooding Jr take on Robert Shapiro and OJ Simpson respectively.

The series is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson, which, according to FX, “explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.” Check out the teaser below.
