Patrick first wrote about 18-year-old Alexis Jordan a couple of months back. Not only has the song grown on me since then, but it has to a few notable master remixers like David Aude, Wideboys and Jump Smokers. “Happiness” is the frist single from Jordan’s upcoming debut CD on Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The uptempo Stargate produced track is about self-joy and empowerment. That same message will be prevalent throughout her CD, according to Alexis. She teases that there will be a lot of upbeat songs with some ballads with a tinge of country and reggae on her album.
Jordan first made it to the nation’s consciousness when she appeared on “America’s Got Talent” as a 14-year-old. She not only wowed judges and audience, but impressed producer Simon Cowell as well. Like Justin Bieber and Esmee Denters, Alexis Jordan began uploading videos of herself singing covers of popular pop songs on YouTube. Her popular videos were racking up over one million views a piece. Respected music producer, Stargate (Rihanna’s “Take a Bow”, Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent”) was one those watching and was so impressed with the red-headed singer, he flew her out to meet with Roc Nation. The rest is history as they say.
