Poor Alexis Jordan just can’t catch a break. The 18-year-old singer made it all the way to the semi-finals of the first season of “America’s Got Talent“, but was eliminated. Then when things were starting to look like they were finally going to take off, she encountered an unforeseeable obstacle. That obstacle would be Willow Smith.
When Roc Nation signed Alexis, she was supposed to be their big teen star, but then Willow came out of nowhere with “Whip My Hair“. And just like that, the Jay-Z label focused all their resources and attention on Smith. Thankfully in 2011, the label is dedicating some attention on Alexis Jordan.
Jordan sang one of my, and a few of the Homorazzi boys, favorite tracks of Summer 2010, “Happiness“. The single hit the Top 10 in Australia and the UK, but only managed to break into the dance charts in North America. Hopefully her second single, “Good Girl“, from her forthcoming debut album will fare better here stateside. Unfortunately, her new single is only being released in the UK first with a US date to follow. Her self-titled debut album is set to drop on February 28, 2010 in the UK with a March release date in the US.
Patrick first brought you a first listen of “Good Girl” a couple of weeks ago, and now we have a video. Even though it’s a bit budget, Alexis shines. She reminds me of a young Janet, Beyonce and Ciara all rolled up in one. Check it out below to see what I mean.

How adorable is she? In a time where new artists are going sluttier, trashier or kookier with their fashion sense, it’s nice to see a singer just be pretty. Hopefully, Alexis finds success with this new single. I really want her to blow up.
