Alanis Morissette is everywhere these days celebrating the 20th anniversary her quintessential third studio album, Jagged Little Pill. On the heels of her appearance on The Tonight Show, where she dressed up as a giant chicken to cluck one of her hit tracks, comes this adorable gem.
The 41-year-old singer performed her 1995 hit, “Ironic” (my favorite), on The Late Late Show, but with updated lyrics. With James Corden’s brilliant assistance, the classic tune now gives nods to modern distractions including Tinder, Netflix, Facebook and Uber.
However, my favorite moment is when they address the biggest criticism Alanis received when she first released the song. “It’s singing ironic, but there are no ironies,” they sing in harmony. Check out the very amusing bit below.
