American Film Institute Declares The Top 10 Films & TV Shows Of 2015

Typically, the American Film Institute unveils their annual Top 10 list earlier in December. The organization postponed their year-end awards in order for their members to view Star Wars: The Force Awakens for consideration. Like most people who’ve seen it, the AFI has fallen in love with it. For the first time ever, a Star Wars film makes the cut.

Over on the television front, Lifetime’s UnReal is becoming quite the darling of the awards season. The Bachelor-inspired series snags yet another honor. It along with The Americans, Empire and Mr. Robot to name a few were honored by the AFI.

All honorees will be celebrated at a private luncheon in Los Angeles on January 8. Mad Men will receive the AFI Special Award, “acknowledging its landmark contributions to America’s cultural legacy across nine years.” It’s earned more honors than any other show in AFI history.
