Looks like another American Idol runner-up is walking the hallowed halls of McKinley High. Let’s just hope for Adam Lambert he actually has lines instead of Jessica Sanchez who popped up last season only to whip out a couple of performances.
Ryan Murphy broke the news in his usual fashion, via Twitter. The Glee co-creator wrote “I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.” If the rumors of an all alumni judging panel for American Idol Season 13 come true, I can already picture FOX’s marketing campaign for an Adam Lambert night. Lots of glitter and over-the-top fabulousness.
Lambert isn’t the only newbie joining the fifth season of Glee. TVLine is reporting that the show is adding three new characters. After cutting several original cast members and promoting Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique) to series regulars, I didn’t think they were going to introduce this much new blood. Find out what producers are casting for below.
According to the publication, “At least three new female recurring characters, including African-American McKinley newbie Ruby, and twentysomethings Julie and Ryan. Interestingly, actresses auditioning for Ryan must be able to sing and play guitar. Potential portrayers of Julie just need to be cute and quirky.”
Say what??? Three females? I’m hoping Murphy plans on bringing some fresh man meat as well. I’m still not over Rachel dumping Brody (Dean Geyer). That Aussie is what sucked me in last season.
Excited to have Lambert join the show? What do you think of the three new characters being added? Sound off below.
