Adam Lambert hasn’t released a full-length album since The Original High back in 2015. Before he drops the official lead single off his forthcoming fourth studio album, the 37-year-old singer shared the first taste. He calls it an “emotional starting point” of his new LP.
“Feel Something” is a raw and stripped-back ballad where Lambert shows off his vulnerability. In conjunction with the release, Adam opened up about struggles he’s faced, specifically his battle with mental illness.
“The life of a bachelor can be a laugh, with plenty of flings, but after awhile it starts to feel empty,” Adam reveals about what inspired him to pen the track. “Between frustrations with my career and many lost connections, I felt numb and though I wanted to fall in love, I knew I wasn’t ready. That’s what inspired me to cry out, ‘I don’t need to feel love, I just want to feel something!’ It was in this realization that I took my first step toward self-care and nursing my spirit back to health.”
Check out the emotional track below and his full statement about it after.
