Abba Is Releasing First New Song In 18 Years

The legendary Swedish pop group Abba is set to release their first new song in 18 years. They’ve announced plans to reissue their final album, The Visitors which will include a previously unreleased song called “From A Twinkling Star To A Passing Angel“. The song is a demo that was recorded way back in 1981 and will the first new recording released since their Thank You For The Music box set in 1994.

The rerelease will also include six previously released bonus tracks and a DVD featuring unreleased footage from the their archives, including their last-ever live performance which took place on the BBC’s Late Late Breakfast Show in December of 1982. The band formed in 1972 were together for ten years, splitting up in 1982, the year after this unreleased song was written. Although they are releasing this album, they aren’t back together that I’m aware of. They had even refused to get back together for their induction in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. The group was comprised of two married couples, that later divorced so it’s an especially tricky situation.
