During Disney’s biennial fan expo, D23, this past summer, director Ava DuVernay and the cast presented the first teaser trailer for A Wrinkle In Time. As dazzling as that footage was, the official full trailer just released by Disney, is even more spectacular. DuVernay has outdone herself.
A Wrinkle in Time is an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light. The 1963 novel won a Newbery Medal, Lewis Carroll Shelf Award and was a runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award.
Starring in the highly-anticipated adaptation is two-time Academy Award nominee Oprah Winfrey, Oscar and Emmy winner Reese Witherspoon, Emmy nominee Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Pena and introducing Storm Reid. It also features appearances by two-time Emmy winner Zach Galifianakis and Emmy nominee Chris Pine.
