NBC Announces First Cast Member For Its Live ‘A Few Good Men’ Production

Who can handle the truth? Apparently, Alec Baldwin can. The 59-year-old actor has been tapped to star in NBC’s live production of A Few Good Men. He’ll play the role of Col. Nathan Jessep originally played by Jack Nicholson. Tom Cruise and Demi Moore also starred in the hit 1992 film.

“Alec Baldwin is the gift that keeps on giving at NBC, and we’re excited to have him starring in Aaron Sorkin’s towering work as we expand our live theater imprint beyond musicals,” Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement (via Deadline). “No stranger to live television, Alec is the most multi-faceted actor in the world and his range is incomparable. He will put his own inimitable stamp on the role of Col. Jessep in a play that is still as surprising and relevant as ever, from one of the most gifted writers working today.”

While the peacock has delivered numerous live musical productions including The Sound of Music Live! and Hairspray Live!, the live version of A Few Good Men will be the first live drama in over 50 years on NBC. The Aaron Sorkin-produced project will debut in 2018.
