Do you have a television show you watch on a weekly basis but feel you should break up with? “The CW’s “90210” definitely falls in that category for me. It’s not the most riveting show, nor the guiltiest pleasure, but for some reason I still keep up with the gang from West Beverly High. Perhaps I feel some sort of ridiculous loyalty for the sheer fact I never missed an episode of the original. Whatever the reason, I need to stop cold turkey.
This time last year, the show shocked fans when they revealed Trevor Donovan (Teddy) was being knocked down to recurring guest star and would eventually be written off the show. His character left Beverly Hills to fight for gay rights in DC, though he did end up popping up in the season finale. When “90210″ returns for its fifth season (can you believe it’s been on the air that long), one of the series regular won’t be returning, but who?
Last time we saw the gang, Dixon was involved in a car accident. Adrianna was flying off to Nashville with Austin. Liam’s sketchy ex-girlfriend reappeared. Naomi declared her love for nerdy Max. Silver told Teddy she wants his gay sperm to father her unborn baby and Ivy was heading to Mexico to chase her recently deported boyfriend. Care to place any bets on who’s leaving the show?

It’s Gillian Zinser who plays hippie surfer chic Ivy Sullivan. Zinser joined the show during the second season as an adversary for Naomi. Eventually her character became part of the gang. Though she lives and hangs with the girls, she’s never really melded with them, IMHO. While I liked Ivy, I agree it’s probably time for her to leave. If she wasn’t surfing, she was dating some guy with some serious baggage, which almost nearly always ended up with a marriage proposal.
Do you watch “90210“? Will you miss Ivy? Do you want the writers to bring back Teddy on a regular basis? Sound off below.

Doesn’t really matter – I never saw Ivy as part of the gang anyway.

I am gonna miss Ivy, she provided a bit of diversity to the cast, that we really needed. I would have liked a storyline with her mother this season, i think that would have been interesting.

I’m considered a wild boy! And I’ve seen every episode. Glad dixon is still alive and you need austin in there because he is the realest person on there. Very sad no ivy though because usually shows aren’t the same when people start leaving. And best of all Annie is single again gives hope for me!

the comment that said ivy provided diversity is completely right!! i hate that she is off the show, because the show is now about 3 girls that are pretty much the same again!! they have the same attitudes, same style, same problems. ivy was SO refreshing (once they gave up the storyline of her wanting liam) as a new kind of heroine on the show. also, her style was by far my favorite- so bohemian and natural– nothing like the other girls’
