After five seasons, the CW has decided to cancel their reprise of the hit show, 90210. The show hasn’t been doing so well with ratings so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. According to TV Line, this season alone slid from a million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating (with its opener) to, at last tally, under 600,000 viewers and a 0.3, shedding a significant chunk of its Carrie Diaries lead-in.
“The CW has had five great seasons with America’s favorite zip code, 90210,” president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. He continued, “I’d like to thank the talented cast, producers, and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni.”
TV Line has learned exclusively that the series will come to come to an end in May of this year. The series finale is expected to air on Monday, May 13. The original 90210 series from the 90s lasted ten seasons. A few of the original cast members originally had roles in this series, but the CW decided to focus on the new cast. Those original cast members included Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling.
What do you think of the cancellation of 90210. Did you see it coming? Were you even watching it anymore? I personally stopped watching a while ago and only recently got back into it. At least I’ll know enough of what is going on to appreciate the series finale. Share your thoughts in the comments.

Last season was so bad I thought that was end. This season was the best I have seen since season 3 when Teddy came out. The problem is they wrote the parents too soon. there was no moral base. (what made the original great was how the walshs brought all the spoiled brats longing for a good family and eventually growing up) everyone was was making the mistakes over and over and not getting smart. where were the social issues of the real world that made the original educational?

Whoa – The Carrie Diaries is a hit? I figured for sure that’d be cancelled after 3 episodes.

I’ve never missed an episode. Same way with the original. But I would watch the original over and and over and this one, not so much. I think changing it to Monday night was the kiss of death. There is so much good programming on Mondays (RuPaul’s Drag Race, Dallas, The Following, Biggest Loser) At least they know it will end and they can end it properly. Wish all the cast the best of luck for future!

The first season was good, and then it just got boring and lame after that. I am more surprised it reached 5th season.

Saw it coming and this broke my heart. Loved this cast since the beginning. Should have axed the writers instead!

They should have kept some of the original 90210 cast! Where did Kelly go? She was suddenly gone. Only a few seasons were good. Still watching though!
