‘Pose,’ ‘Killing Eve,’ ‘The Good Place’ & More To Be Honored At 2019 Peabody Awards

Established in 1940, the Peabody Award was created to honor excellence in radio broadcasting. Over the years, categories were expanded to cover greatness in television, film and digital media. The organization just announced which television programs will be honored at the 2019 Peabody Awards.

Among the series to be honored at the upcoming 78th gala include BBC America’s Killing Eve, HBO’s Barry and Random Acts of Flyness, FX’s Pose and The Americans, Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe, NBC’s The Good Place, and three Netflix titles, Hannah Gadsby: Nanette, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, and The End of the F***ing World.

The board also named Sesame Street winner of an Institutional Award for 50 years of educating and entertaining children in the U.S. and around the world.

This year’s awards will be handed out on Saturday, May 18 at a ceremony to be held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Rita Moreno will be on hand to receive the Peabody Career Achievement Award.
