Ten Most Popular Male & Female Dog Names In 2018

I remember when we adopted our lovable West Highland White Terrier (above), picking the perfect name was an arduous task. Eventually, we decided on Briggs– Lord Bartholomew Briggs being his full name. Yup we’re those gays 😉

Rover.com just revealed 2018’s most popular names for dogs. What made the cut? Well, plenty. Music idols like Freddie Mercury and Cardi B offered inspiration, as did villainous names. The latter category with names like Loki and Thanos was actually up 18 percent.

Royal names were also on the rise, especially the newly-minted Duke and Duchess of Sussex. “We saw the royal wedding surging as inspiration for dog names,” Kate Jaffe, a dog name curator for Rover said. “In fact, dogs named Harry and Meghan were both up about 130 percent this year.”
