2017 Golden Globe Winners & Highlights

We’ve entered awards season and tonight, the 74th Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place with host Jimmy Fallon. With an elaborate pre-recorded song & dance opening with starts that included Nicole Kidman, the kids from Stranger Things, Justin Timberlake & more, Fallon took the stage only to encounter a teleprompter that wasn’t working. After a bit of ad lib, it was on with the show.

The highlight of the evening for me was when Meryl Streep was honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Viola Davis with a beautiful speech and tribute video of her work. Streep delivered an incredible and powerful acceptance speech that you simply must watch. I’ve included it below.

With regards to the awards, La La Land was the big winner of the night. It won an award in every category it was nominated, setting a record for most wins- seven in total. Damien Chazelle at 31-years-old became the youngest director to receive the honor in Globes history.

Re-watch some of the highlights and check out the the list of winners below.
