The 2016 Hollywood Film Awards Kick Off Awards Season

2016-hollywood-film-awardsThe 20th annual Hollywood Film Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel this past weekend. James Corden hilariously presided over the festivities. “If you haven’t won an award tonight and you’re here, you should fire your publicist,” joked Corden. He’s referring to the fact that the non-televised event is considered a second-tier Oscar precursor. With that being said, it officially kicks off the lengthy awards season.

Tom Hanks and Natalie Portman, who are considered in the running to score Oscar nominations, won Best Actor and Best Actress statues for their work in Sully and Jackie respectively. With regards to the supporting categories, Hugh Grant won for Florence Foster Jenkins, while Nicole Kidman was recognized for her work in Lion.

Jeffrey Katzenberg stood at the podium to present Eddie Murphy with the Hollywood Career Achievement award. Check out all the winners below.
