2012 Man Crush Showdown: Round 2

Just like my 2012 Model Behavior Showdown, the annual Man Crush Showdown is also off to a resounding success. Almost 20,000 votes were cast in Round 1. Unlike the first round of the Model Behavior showdown, the gap between the Top 3 here was more than five votes. There was a clear winner.

Coming in first place was actor Brandon Quinn with 5,001 votes. To be perfectly honest, I was a little surprised. Though sexy in that rough kind of way, I didn’t think he’d win Round 1. The other person to earn an automatic berth in the Final Round is Mario Casas (4,446 Votes). Props to our readers for advancing such a tasty foreign dish. Just missing out in third place is Aussie hunk, Dan Ewing with 3,743 votes. I’m sure with that total, he’ll earn one of the four wild card slots for the finals.

With Round 1 in the history books, it’s time to shift focus to Round 2. Check out this crop of my previous weekly Man Crushes. If you want more pictures of each stud, click on their name for their feature.

Robert Hoffman

Original Feature: Apr 26, 2012

Why I Chose Him: This former Step Up 2 star popped up on 90210 as a surfing Catholic seminarian. Heard of the Thorn Birds? There’s something sexy about a hot priest. That whole forbidden fruit thing.

Justin Clynes

Original Feature: May 11, 2012

Why I Chose Him: This scruffy Broadway star hit all the right notes and danced his way to my cyber heart.

Theo James

Original Feature: May 18, 2012

Why I Chose Him: James stepped in when Ryan Phillippe dropped out of CBS’ upcoming drama, The Golden Boy. If he looks familiar, it’s because he plays Kemal Pamuk on Downton Abbey. Speaking of… I’d like to go downton on his abbey.

Nico Archambault

Original Feature: May 24, 2012

Why I Chose Him: So You Think You Can Dance’s Season 9 premiered and I wanted to honor one of the hottest winners. So what if he’s from the Canadian edition.

Logan Marshall-Green

Original Feature: Jun 8, 2012

Why I Chose Him: Prometheus hit theaters and it reintroduced me to one of its hot stars. Remember him as Ryan’s (Benjamin McKenzie) brother on The O.C.

Josh Henderson

Original Feature: Jun 14, 2012

Why I Chose Him: Giddy up. I’d ride on this cowboy’s horse bareback 😉 Josh starred in TNT’s reboot of Dallas.

Nick Adams

Original Feature: Jun 21, 2012

Why I Chose Him: I was in NYC and saw the musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert for the second time. Though, I preferred the London West End production more, Nick made the Broadway version a sexier one.

Ryan Guzman

Original Feature: Jul 12, 2012

Why I Chose Him: Ryan, hands down, is the hottest actor to star in the Step Up franchise since Channing Tatum. Hopefully, he’ll follow Tatum’s footsteps and plays a stripper in an upcoming movie. He’s got the abs and butt for it.

Brenton Thwaites

Original Feature: Jul 20, 2012

Why I Chose Him: The Aussie star appeared in Lifetime’s remake of The Blue Lagoon. Though there was plenty of shirtless scenes, no peen shots occurred. This is why remakes never live up to the original.

Derek Theler

Original Feature: Jul 26, 2012

Why I Chose Him: WOOF. I wanted him to be my baby’s daddy. At least, have fun trying to conceive. LOL. Theler stars in ABC Family’s Bady Daddy.

Omari Hardwick

Original Feature: Aug 17, 2012

Why I Chose Him: Who doesn’t like a brother with plenty of muscles and lots of ink. He won me over while watching a screener of Jordin Sparks’ Sparkle.

Jayson Blair

Original Feature: Aug 30, 2012

Why I Chose Him: These days, Jayson appears as the dimwitted ex on The New Normal. Prior to that, he was a closeted jock on The Hard Times of RJ Berger. That shower scene is smoking hot.

Taylor Kinney

Original Feature: Sep 7, 2012

Why I Chose Him: It’s hard to put out a fire when one is so smokin’ hot. Lady Gaga sure is one lucky beyotch to have this Chicago Fire star as her man.

UPDATE: Due to a technical glitch, the poll didn’t close on December 26. All votes cast past then will be voided. The following numbers in brackets will be subtracted from each Man Crush when determining the four wildcard spots: Brenton Thwaites (0); Derek Theler (27); Jayson Blair (518); Josh Henderson (9); Justin Clynes (695); Logan Marshall-Green (2); Nick Adams (0); Nico Archambault (0); Omari Hardwick (0); Robert Hoffman (46); Ryan Guzman (677); Taylor Kinney (3); Theo James (17).

This is hard, I thought of course Taylor Kinney all the way but then I see you featured Nico, I somehow missed that, and I am so in love with him. Choices, choices.

  • marc

taylor kinney. always taylor kinney. always!

  • Matt

Why are people still voting when they poll ended yesterday?

  • Yea, I know. I spent a good amount of time showing support for the guys I liked during the posted voting period. Now some dudes are showing up after the voting was *supposed* to end and going on a voting blitz. Why post and end date if it doesn’t even matter?

  • Wow, my random complaint actually got addressed. 🙂 Thanks.

  • Hi Brendan,

I always listen and take into consideration. Thanks for the heads up & support.
