I’m mixed race and have never really seen an issue of diversity here. But then again I also realize it’s a lot more complicated than what someone appears to be. Latin or Mexican, whatever you want to call it is real even if it’s not a recognized “race”. They clearly have physical characteristics that are different than white characteristics, as well as black or Asain. Lets not pretend we don’t know that and stop making a problem where there really is none.

Hispanic/Latino is not a race, nor will it ever be. Read this part more closely: Now, the Census is considering eliminating the Hispanic origin question and combining it with the race question in a “race or origin” category. Hispanic/Latino cultures are a mixture of many different races and to classify them all as one race would simply not fly. The confusion that this has already caused should tell the Census something.

Oh, come on. Hispanic is basically a race. So much so, that the US Census is considering making them a race officially (after being petitioned to do so by Hispanics):

Additionally, I doubt the writers are intentionally not picking other races, and it is not like any of the people they have chosen this year are ugly, so I am not complaining. Why should they not chose certain people just for appearances? They have had Asians and Hispanics. They have whites. Ultimately, it shouldn’t matter what color their skin is because we are all human. This shouldn’t be a problem.

Competition or not, one can pretty much search and sort all posted models over the years and it looks extremely whitewashed. Masculine hotness comes in all forms and shouldn’t be an issue for gay sites from one of the world most multicultural countries.

Latin is NOT a race its a culture. Drooling over euro Brazilian models promoted from Made in Brazil blog doesn’t count.

I have worked with some of the featured models here in Europe. Even gay-sites from rather homogeneous countries such as Germany, Sweden tend to include more diversity.

Now, lets take a leap from 1963 to 2013.

Thanks Donovan for finally speaking up. I was getting annoyed with these nit-picking guys trying to start drama and bash not only the voters but the site staff members because of the race. You guys do these polls for fun and it’s a shame to see them turn sour this year.

I still find it amazing that these type of competitions with male models always feature guys of American-European heritage and hardly ever handsome men of African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, or Native American heritage. It’s too bad that some of your (white guys) still think that the American Caucasion sets the standards for male beauty. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Just wanted to quickly address things.

1. I try to include various races in my model behavior and weekly man crushes. The FINALS is based on our readers votes. If you check out the Models one, there are two visible minorities there. The votes just happened to propel these 10 in the finals.

2. I find it sorta hilarious that people like to lump everyone in the white race if they’re not Asian or black. Latin is a viable race option last time I checked.

3. The only unhealthy obsession I have is with Kentucky Fried Chicken and not white guys. Trust.

Seriously, the Asian writer behind these posts have an unhealthy obsession with white guys.

It’s no wonder why gay racial minorities views themselves as least desirable. This is unconscious/conscious social conditioning at it’s finest.
