I’m either going to channel my inner straight guy here, or truly out-gay myself with this post. So hold-on tight and figure out which assessment is true. The annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show aired Tuesday night on CBS. I have to admit, the show is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. There’s something about incredibly hot women walking down a glittered runway, while maneuvering other winged Amazonian women, that just screams must-see TV to me. Normally Brian and I have people over and treat the show like a pay-per-view event, but this year we opted not to due to the fact we’re having people over this weekend to warm our home.

For the first time in a few years, the fashion show returned to New York City after Miami and Los Angeles were temporary homes for the past few shows. Overall it was a good show with some interesting themes and costumes. Let’s face it, only a small percentage of the outfits being shown are actually available to purchase at your local mall. The fashion show is primarily a publicity event to glamorize the brand and image and not to actually sell any of the outfits. Not that I’m complaining, since I’d rather see imaginative creations than a simple bra and panty.

For the first time ever, the VSFS did a nation-wide casting call to book an unknown to walk the catwalk with the Victoria’s Secret Angels. After an online vote (whatever, I call fix), Kylie Busitti won and strutted her sexy legs and huge boobies down the runway. Personally, I could’ve done without this segment and would’ve rather they showed another segment than this filler. One of the “unknowns” who made the top 5, I recognized from NBC’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search. Alicia Hall actually won that competition- I guess that led to bigger and better thing… NOT.

This year’s musical performers were the “they-seem-to-be-everywhere”, Black Eyed Peas. They performed two of their hits for the show- “Boom Boom Pow” and “Meet Me Halfway”. Good job on the producers for redeeming themselves with regards to the musical talent, after a few sub-standard years. I love Usher but he blew last year, Spice Girls were meh at best and they lip synced, Seal would’ve been fine had he not sung a duet with his wife Heidi. Yes, Heidi apparently sings. I hate to say this, but the other Heidi (Montag) actually has a better voice. Egads, what’s the world coming to?

The telecast featured five segments: Star Trooper, All Aboard, PINK Planet, Enchanted Forest and Romantic Journey. Enchanted Forest had the best wings. All Aboard had the best music. While, PINK Planet had the funnest outfits. Here’s a photo gallery with all five segments

Given the fact Heidi Klum just gave birth less than five weeks prior to filming, I wasn’t expecting her to strut her stuff down the runway. Considering she’s had four babies and is still losing pregnancy weight from her latest, she still has a smoking body most women would die for. Look for yourself and make your own assessment.

For this year’s show intro, I noticed something(s) missing- namely a couple of the famous Angels. Both Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova weren’t mentioned nor shown. Did they not renew their contracts like Gisele Bundchen did a few years ago? No, apparently both recently gave birth for the first time and not in runway-model-physique. What kind of water are they drinking at Victoria’s Secret’s head office? Everyone’s getting prego.

This year’s featured models were Heidi Klum, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio (MY FAVORITE), Miranda Kerr, Marisa Miller, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton and Behati Prinsloo. Even though Selita Ebanks was featured during the first segment, her name wasn’t on the marquee- something smells a bit fishy there.

After reading the press release for the show, I was surprised to find out that this year was the first time they had an Asian model partake in the show. Is it bad that I never even noticed considering I’ve been watching this boobfest for 10 years? Besides an Asian sister doing it for the first time, one of my favorite new models Chanel Iman also broke her Victoria’s Secret cherry and joined in on the fun .
